Launceston Male Choir
Making Music in Launceston Tasmania
The Launceston Male Choir is a community choir of about 20 men who enjoy the thrill of singing together as a group. We sing a range of songs in either unison or 2 and 3 part harmony accompanied by piano.
Rehearsals are on a Tuesday from 7.00 to 8.45 pm, currently held in the hall at 16 Landale Street, Invermay which has lots of space and good heating.
Performances generally include an annual concert in October, regular performances at local retirement homes and various other community venues.
We welcome new members at any time - call one of the contact numbers for more information. ( sorry, men only )

Rehearsing for the 2018 annual concert
and relaxing after a job well done !
During 2021 the choir has had the pleasure of participating in several concerts together with other performers. These include the "Sing for Peace" Concert at Pilgrim Uniting Church in August (part of the Tamar Valley Peace Festival), an outdoor performance at the Launceston Harvest Market and at the biennial "Music in the Churches" organised by the West Tamar Arts Group in October.
Songs included Where'er You Walk, Love Changes Everything, Turn Turn Turn, I Have a Dream, My Land, God Help the Outcasts and Angels in the Night.
In December we were part of the inaugural Carols on the Green at Glenara Lakes and sang a bracket in the City Mall which included a couple of less well known carols - Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella and The Peace Carol as well as some more traditional carols.
The above recording of An English Country Garden was made in March 2018 and played on the radio program "Garden Talk Back" co-hosted by Peter Cundall on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
More photos of the choir can be found on the NEWS, HISTORY and PHOTOS pages
and more recordings on the Concerts page.
